We blend our own organically grown blueberries - varieties chosen to most resemble the
tiny wild blueberries of New England - to make this tasty sauce.
We cook the berries with a little lemon juice and just enough sugar to ensure a soft set. We don't add any pectin or thickeners, so this preserve is bursting with whole berries in a rich, dark blueberry sauce, not a solid "gel." Since we use only half the amount of sugar as in a conventional jam, the flavor is more like a blueberry pie. Enjoy it spooned on waffles, pancake, crepes or French toast, in hot and cold cereals, with yogurt
or ricotta cheese, and with toast and muffins.
